What to wear and how to be prepared for your family portrait session
Ah, the family portrait. It's one of the most important things you can do to capture your family's history, and it's also a lot of fun. There are so many ways to make a photo session fun: coordinating outfits, choosing locations that remind you of meaningful moments (or are just beautiful), and having people in the photos who aren't your immediate family but play an important role in your life (like grandparents). However, there are also some things you should consider before going into your session so that it goes smoothly and everyone looks their best! Here's what I learned about planning for our own family portrait shoot:
Coordinating the Family
As you start to plan outfits for your family portrait session, keep in mind that you want to wear clothing that flatters you and shows your personality. You can also choose specific outfits for each person, but be sure it's coordinating for the group!
As far as what to wear? A lot depends on the weather conditions where we'll be shooting--if it's chilly out, I recommend wearing layers. If it's hot out (and especially if there are little ones involved), keep comfort in mind when selecting outfits.
