About Amy

I love photography… I absolutely love photography.  But for me it is so much more than just the love of snapping pictures. I practice photography. I analyze every detail for amazing portraits. From connecting with my clients for genuine expression to tackling any lighting situation for the best exposure. I learn, I analyze, I practice and I compete in image competitions. I think continuing education is what sets my work apart. So far I have earned Professional Photographers of America 2010 Bronze Photographer of the Year award, Professional Photographers of California 2011 Senior Portrait Photographer of the Year award and Professional Photographers of San Diego County 2010 & 2011 Children’s Photographer of the Year awards.

A bit about my background… I’m a mom of three perfect babies! We’ll not really babies anymore and maybe only in my eyes perfect. But still my babies…. Roxann is a sassy 9 year old, Nile is a bossy 6 year old, and the baby.. Well she’s  3. Sweet little Stevie and forever my wee bitty baby. Yes, by the way…I  do still sniff them like they’re  puppies when they’re sleeping. They are my purpose for everything and my inspiration in photography.

I’ve lived in the Temecula – Murrieta area my entire life. I went from wanting to run away from this town screaming to realizing overnight what a great place it was to raise a family. And not to mention We’re easily an hour away from everywhere. Beach, snow, desert, meadows, city…. What more can I ask for?

After a nice long career as an orthodontic office manager I decided that I wanted a career that truly made me happy. I mean I do love teeth, I could talk teeth all day long. But my dream was to take my life long hobby of photography and get serious about it. I was determined to take my camera off of “Program Mode” and become a “Real” photographer. I wanted to record light, not the way I saw it but the way I imagined it. And I wanted to know HOW to do that! For several years I juggled two jobs. The “Real” photographer thing… It took a very long time. I truly had no clue what I was getting into.  How difficult it would be and the amount of sleep that I would be sacrificing. Thankfully I loved every bit of it. The combination of right brain and left brain working together seamlessly to create art! I was just so excited about it.

So hear I am today. So lucky and so thankful to be doing what I love. And so honored to be photographing the families in my community.

“In the click of a shutter our sweet babies become silly toddlers then soon become rowdy kids. Those rowdy kids grow to be busy teenagers who will soon unfold into intelligent young adults. Thankfully every moment was captured and will forever be cherished. Like you, my family is my purpose”. -Amy
